Thracian-zalmos-fur-Turkic-salma-turban

Tomaschek - Thraker - Thracian - Traklar
*

Thee is a word in the book Die Alten Thraker by Wilhelm Tomaschek

an interesting one

zalmos

It means fur (German Fell).

*

Duridanov says it is related to OldPrussian Salmis meaning helmet and shows many derivates.

*

Now look at PTurk. *č(i)al- 1 turban 2 noose, lasso 3 to plait, wrap 4 to bind by throwing the rope 5 to become entangled 6 to entangle 7 band, strap 8 to bind around, wrap around 9 to plait.

>Salma

The Turks entangled their headgear maybe. And of course the Turks used fur as headgear, too.
