Thracian-Orthagoria-Ortagurea-versus-Turkic-OrtaKoru

Coin of Orthagoria in the Numismatic Museum of Athens

*

Orthagoria
was an ancient town in Thrace.
According to Pliny the Older there was a place called
Ortagurea
*
Why is it important for me?
Because the 2 words in this town's name are startlingly Turkic
Orta
and
Koru
*
Orta means: the middle (of a nation, in this sense the place of the king)
>Turkic Ordu: army
Koru means a fenced, protected
Both ORTOGORU could mean
"the protected place in the middle"
or "protecting middle"
*
probably a place where the Elite lived and had their camp.
*
There was even a place next to it called Caracoma
I wrote about it, too:

Caracoma-Karakum
