Kabil'in eski adı Ortospana imiş.

Orta ile ilgisi var mıdır acaba derken, wiki'de şu yukarıdaki bilgiyi buldum. 

Üç anayol burada birleşirmiş eskiden. Ortamın ortasıymış yani.

Orta/ortu Eski Türkçe merkez demek.

I thought, it could be a beautiful Turkish word... Ortospana...

The old name of Kabul/Afghanistan was Ortospana.

While I was wondering if it had anything to do with Orta (Türkic word for 'center'), I came across first pic above. 

Three main roads converged here. It was the middle of roads.

Orta/ortu means center in Old Turkish.

The rest of the word?

Old Turkish Ban-, means to bind.

Ticareti böylece kontrol edip, vergi alıyordu.

Antik Samotrake, Orthokorybantians (yukarıdaki 2 sözcük de var bunda), Orthagoria, Romalı oymak Ortalus adlarında bu 'orta' bulunur.

This 'orta' (meaning the 'middle') is also found in the names of ancient Samotrake, Orthokorybantians (even both the above two words are present), Orthagoria, and the Roman gens Ortalus.
