Friglerin adının kökeni üzerine bir deneme:

An try on the origin of the name of the Phrygians:

Asyalı ve Hint-Avrupalı Hellenlere yabancı/barbar Traklar/Frigler Asya kökenlidir. 

Yunanlılarla akraba değildirler. 

Friglerin Anadolu'ya gelmeden önce adları, Herodot'a göre Brygler/Brigler (Βρύγοι / Βρίγες).

The barbarian Thracians/Phrygians, who were foreign to Indo-European Hellenes, were of Asian origin.

They are not related to the Greeks.

The name of the Phrygians before they came to Anatolia, according to Herodotus, was Bryges/Briges (Βρύγοι / Βρίγες).

Friglere/Briglere gelince bunların adını da Eski Türkçe bir'den türeyen birik/biriki'den getireceğim!

Eski Türkçe birik-, birikmek, toplanmak, bir araya gelmek, bir olmak anlamındadır.

Bundan türeyen biriki ise birleşik, birleşen anlamındadır.

Sonuçta söyleyebileceği şu:

 Türkçe bir (1) > birik- > biriki > Birig / Firig

As for the Phrygians/Brigians, I will derive their name from the Old Turkish birik/biriki!

Old Turkish birik- means to accumulate, gather, come together, become one.

The derived biriki means united, (came) together.

In conclusion, what I can say is this:

Turkish bir (1) > birik- > biriki 

> Birig / Firig
