Old Turkish had affected the both other Languages (Latin & Indogerman) in ancient days.

Was meinst Du?

*****English*****

The titel „König“: According to wiktionary, testified since 8. Century as Künic, Künec (Künik, Künek) in Mittelhochdeutsch.
According to woerterbuchnetz.de Althochdeutsch Chunni: Lineage, gothic word: Kuni
I read above very often, sometimes visible and sometimes not, the Turkish words -Hun- and -Kün-.The both are very old (and live) words: Hun ist the Nation and Kün is the sun (the God).
By Künic and Künec (Actually I hear the word güneş (turkisch for sun, too) there is a little word -ec, -ic (-ek, -ik).
Indogerman „aikos“ means one, the same. Saxon -eka means the one and the same, Latin aequus.
Turkish iki means „2“, eki means the partner (Gazete eki=neswpaper garnish), the partner.
The Hard Facts so far.

Now the train of thought:
The Huns were known by the Old German Clans und and of course their kings, too.The Word Küneki could be accepted as König. Oldturkish word could be Hun Kün-eki, what the oldgermans had heard (see above Künec, Künic). This word could mean Partner of the Sun (on Earth). It could be suitable for a King. We know from the Orkhun Stones that the Old Turkish Kings called themselves as tengri-teg tengride bolmis: heaven-liked, heaven conceived.

What do you mean?

Hun Küneki (Hunlarin Baş’i) zamanla König ve King e dönüşmüş olabilir. Güneşin Eşi anlamındaki kelime de, Orhun Anitlarindaki tengri-teg tengride bolmuş, yani gökyüzünde olmuş, oluşmuş tümcesiyle uyum icindedir.

Ne dersin?

SimilarPronouns-ÄhnlichePronomen-BenzerşahısZamirleri

My Work doesn’t consist of etymology only, but also grammar. A light and slow introduction:

I have the same book again in my hand: Vergleichendes Wörterbuch der Indogermanischen Sprachen by August Fick.

At the first moment I have seen at

Page #9: ati-s, atino: "Oven", further we see: Cymraeg (Language of Wales) Odyn: Oven. Important in 2 ways: Odun means „wood“ and the root od-, ot- means „to burn „or simply „fire“in Turkish. We read further and see the old Irish word „indeonai-m“ for „to roast“. Interesting is that the word ends with an -m, like in Turkish, when you want to say „i am roasting“ you also use an -m at the end of the verb, like here in old Irish. For first person singular the Turks use always an -m at the end of the verb in a sentence, in every tense. Note it please.

Page #17. We see the verb (p) ar: to seek. Turkish root for that is „ara-„ for „to seek“. Identical in Meaning and identical in form. Irish form of it is; i-arraim. And we have again the letter -m (suffix) for the first person singular. i-arrai-m means „i seek“ and in modern Turkish i would say ariyoru-m( i am seeking)  or arari-m (i seek). Simple Izmir Dialect ariyo-m :)
Similar?

Paradise at Page #25: it begins with the word i-adai-m ending with the suffix -m and then again the word i-arai-m, i seek. We see then the root „eig-„ meaning to cry, to shout. Turkish equivalence would be „bagir-„ to shout and then "egi-m" for "bagiriri-m". August Fick makes a proposal: eig- like in Latin aeger (sick, ill). But we drive further.
itao: i go (indogerman). irish: ethai-m like turkish „gideyi-m“ (let me go) „i go“ would be in Turkish „gideri-m“. The root for „to go“ is „git-„. Pretty same. Not enough! It shall be more interesting: irish  „etta“ means „he’s gone“ - Turkish equivalence would be „gitti“. Interesting enough? NO. ad-ethai-m means „I approach“ => ad=öte ==> Turkish: öte gideri-m.

#28. Middle Irish tairni-m:  I settle down. Turkish: Oturayim for „I should settle/sit down“. Then a doozie: irish eis: track and…. Turkish „Iz“ means track, too. Fairly similar. Iz derives from „iy-„ to go. 2 same words, 2 same meanings, 2 completely different languages? Too many coincidences....

#44. ithi-m: I eat -> yi-ri-m, ye-ri-m (Turkish for "I eat"), Latin „edere“.

#50. douccim: I trap, seize. dok- teg-, deg- Turkish for „to touch“, „to attack“ (very old Turkish)

#51. orgai-m: I hit, I beat. „ur-„ „vur-„ Turkish for „to beat“, „to shoot“,  „to hit“

#68. kaptao (indogerman), irish: cachtaim: I capture, i take prisoner. Turkish „kap-„ for „to capture“ „ „kapa-„ to shut up, to close. Fairly similar words. (many Words in Latin with this beginning: cap-, whit the meanings to close, to arrest, to capture, etc).

And now it will be very exciting:

#165. beio: I am, I live. many other similar words from indogerman Languages like beio. Turkish „ben“ for I (me).

#203. me. Pronoun for the first person singular. The other indogerman Words mi, my, etc resemble the Turkish pronoun ben, men for 1. person singular. Latin: me: English me

#324: sves: you (pronoun 2. person plural) Irish si, sis, sissi =>Turkish siz (pronoun 2. person pl.) Latin: vos, similar or same?

You decide!

*****Deutsch*****

Meine Arbeit besteht nicht nur aus Etymologie. Grammatik ist auch wichtig. Eine langsame und leichte Einführung:

Wir sind wieder im Buch:

Vergleichendes Wörterbuch der Indogermanischen Sprachen von August Fick

Was mich in der ersten Sekunde schon interessiert hat:

Seite 9. ati-s, Atino-: Brennofen
weiter unten steht: Cymrisch: Odyn: Brennofen.

203: me: Pronomen der ersten Singular Person me, mi, my -> Türkisch ben, men: ICH, Latein: me: mich

324: sves: ihr (2. Person Plural) irisch. si, sisi, sissi => Türkisch : siz (2. Person Plural)  Latein: vos, ähnlich oder gleich?

Entscheide Du!

Benim isim sadece dilin kökeni degil gramerle de ilgili. Sakin ve yavaş bir giriş yapayim:

Yine ayni kitabi elimize alalım. Vergleichendes Wörterbuch der Indogermanischen Sprachen - Derleyen: August Fick.  Türkçesi: Hint-cermen dillerinin karsilastirmali sözlüğü

Hemen ilgimi çeken su oldu:

9. Sayfa. ati-s, Atino: FIRIN. Devam edersek hemen cymru dilinde yani Galler dilinde, Odyn de Firin anlaminda. 2 sekilde önemli: Odun, yakacak odun anlamında ve Ot- kökü de yakmak anlamında zaten. Okumaya devam ettigimizde eski irlandaca indeonai-m kelimesi var. Ben yakiyorum, kizartiyorum anlaminda. Burda dikkatimi çeken son harf: tekil birinci kisinin -m ile biten eylemi Türk dilindeki ile ayni. Ben yakiyoru-m: indeonai-m.

Sayfa 17: (p)ar kelimesini görürüz. Ara-mak demek. 1:1 ayni.

51. orgai-m: vur-uyoru-m. ur- mak kökü,  vur-mak kelimesinin eski hali.

68: kaptao (hint cermen): irlandaca cachtai-m: esir almak anlaminda. Kap- kökü Türkce ayni anlama gelir. Kelime ayni, anlam ayni. Kapa-mak da burda isimize yarar. Esir almak anlamında. Latince'de birçoklarıyla kelime cap- önkelimesiyle baslar, anlamları kapamak, kap, esir almak (ingilizce capture gibi(kökü letincedir)). Bu kelimeye daha çok dikkat etmek gerekebilir

Simdi biraz daha ilginçleşecek:

165. beio: ben yasiyorum, varım. Diger keltce ve hintgermence kelimeler hemen hemen birbirinin aynisi. Hepsi Türkce’deki „ben“ ile benzesir.

203. sayfada devam: me: birinci tekil kisi: me, mi, my, Türkcesi ben, men, benim, menem, menim.
Latince: me: beni, ben,

324. sves: siz ikinci çoğul kisi. irlandaca si, sisi, sissi- Türkcesi siz, sizi. Latince: vos. Yabancı mi tanıdık mi?

Siz karar verin!

Sword-Schwert-Kılıç-Kledos-Gladius

Kledo-s: Kılıç

Keltcede kılıcın yerine gecen kelime. Cymru dilinde: Cledd* (Breton dilinde Kleze, www.etymonline.com' a ‚ göre). Kökü bilinmiyor, tam olarak bilinmiyor, veya kesin degil, veya ücüncü bir dilden alıntı. Yani ne Keltce ne Latince ama ücüncü bir dilden alinma. Türkce’yi dikkate almazsan böyle.

Ama Türkcemizi hesaba katarsan şöyle:

Kılıç:  Metalişçisi Türklerin belki de bulduğu ve yaptigi silahlardan biri.

Nisanyan’a göre kökü -Kıl-mak- tan geliyor.

Ingilizcesi Scabbard, Almancasi Scheide. Ikisi de KIN anlaminda.

Bi istek parca daha mi?

Glad-ia-(t)-or kelimesi Kilic-Eri mi? Bence arenaya sıkışıp kalan savasci anlamında degil, silahının eri anlaminda.

*****English*****

Kledo-s: Sword

Celtic word for Sword. Cymric Cledd * (Breton. kleze „sword“ from www.etymonline.com) more like Kılıç). Origin: unknown or uncertain. All the etymological sources say the same. Or they are saying : an unknown third language? Unknown, when they ignore Turkish.

When we would  not ignore the Turkish language, we should see:

Kılıç: (read KL-I-j oder KL-I-ch), a weapon, that the metalworking Turks maybe invented and built.

The word Kılıç derives from the root "Kıl-" , that means „to process, to manufacture, to give a form“ or may be „Kıy-„ „to cut, to chop“.
The word Kılıç is a very very old word, that we can find on the Tombstones of Orkhun in Mittelasia and in modern Turkish today in the same form, too.

Latin word -gladius- is almost the same word with an uncertain origin. Probably, they say, from Celtic Language. And when we read, Celtic, we know, that Celtic word has no certain origin, either. And now we ware again by the Turkish word: „Kılıç".

Encore?

A relative word to sword is vagina. We find the Turkish word „KIN“ (meaning scabbard) in va-GIN-a.

Yet another encore?

Glad-ia-(t)-or: Kılıç-er(i) :  Not in an Arena but as Free Men, who bore Swords.

* Vergleichendes Wörterbuch der Indogermanischen Sprachen; August Fick, 1896.

*****Deutsch****

Kledo-s: Schwert
