Herodot-Iapyges-Turkish-yapig

Herodot Tarih Herodotus Histories

Iάπυγες= Yapıg-Iapyges

*

Iάζυγες ~=~ Iάπυγες (yazılışları benzer bu iki ulusun bence kökleri de benzer)

Iάζυγες= Yazıg ulusunu (Sarmat boyu) bilirsiniz, Türklerle birçok ortak öğeleri vardır.

Iάπυγες= Yapıg ulusunu ben Herodot'ta okudum: Bu erkekleri uzun saçlı ulusun, kadınları törenlerde başlarına örtü (Eski Türkçe> yapug) takarmış. Hayvancılıkla uğraşan ulus, koyun 'yapağısı' satarmış. Ölülerini gömme şekilleri de Orta Asya'yı hatırlattı bana.

ENGLISH

Iάζυγες ~=~ Iάπυγες (spellings are similar, I think the roots of these two nations are also similar)

Iάζυγες= You know the Yazig nation (Sarmatian tribe) they have many common elements with the Turks.

Iάπυγες= Nation of Yapig I read in Herodotus' book:

These men of the nation with long hair, women wore a veil (Old Turkish > yapug) on their heads during ceremonies. The nation dealing with livestock used to sell sheep 'fleece'. The way they bury their dead reminded me of Central Asia.

Italian Puglia's name derives from their names.
