Author Stanley Casson suggests very cautiously that the etymo of ‚Pre Greek’ Oxus could be Turkish Aksu (lit. White Water, although ak- means to flow, too). 

The name of a river in Hungary is OKOR. It comes from the Turkish root ak-, says a scholar, too:

Yazar Stanley Casson, 'Yunanca Öncesi' Oxus sözcüğünün  kökeninin Türkçe Aksu (Beyaz Su veya eylem ak- >akmak) olabileceğini çok dikkatli bir şekilde öne sürüyor.

Macaristan'daki bir ırmağın adı OKOR. Türkçe ak- kökünden geliyor diyor bir akademisyen:
