Aidos, meaning shame, respect, modesty is the name of the goddess of shame in Greek mythology. This name comes from 

Αἰδώς, meaning shame and modesty with an uncertain etymology. Even Beekes has no etymology in IE languages. 

I have a proposal: Türkic verb uya-, uyad- means shame, to be ashamed; modesty, and therefore Aidos is a 100% compatible with the Türkic uyad- (verb) and uyad (noun) meaning modesty, private part. 

Again a probably a Pre-Greek word with a Türkic root.

Türkçesi:

Utanç, saygı, tevazu anlamına gelen Aidos, Yunan mitolojisinde utanç tanrıçasının da adıdır. Bu ad, belirsiz bir etimolojisi olan utanç ve tevazu anlamına gelen Αἰδώς sözcüğünden gelir. Beekes'in bile Hint-Avrupa dillerinden getirdiği bir etimolojisi yoktur.

Benim bir önerim var: Türkçe uya-, uyad- eylemleri utanmak, mahcup olmak; tevazu anlamına gelir ve bu nedenle Aidos, Türkçe uyad- eylemi ve tevazu, mahrem yer anlamına gelen uyad sözcüğüyle %100 uyumludur.

Bu sözcük yine muhtemelen Türkçe kökenli, Yunanca öncesi bir sözcüktür.
