A Sarmatian Tribe with an incomplete etymology.

ÇIGAY/ÇIGAN: meaning poor, scarce and the stem word in many European "Gypsy" words:
cigány tzigane Byzantine τσιγγάνος zigano/zingaro Zigeuner, Middle High Cigäwnär țigan Cygan Cikán цыган Jiddisch ציגײַנער all these (and many more) derived from Old "çıgan" meaning "poor, verarmt, mittellos".
