Turkish-Kara-Karajan-and-Black-George




Anne tarafından hemşerim (Yunanistan Kozani doğumlu) ünlü orkestra şefi Karajan ve Sırp asi Kara Yorgi de 'esmer' olduğuna KARA lakabını alanlardan. Annenim büyük dedelerinden biri de Kara Davut adındaymış. Balkanlar'da bu Türkçe lakabı isme çeviren çok insan var.

ENGLISH TRANSLATION:


The family of my mother comes from Greece, City of Kozani( Greek City Kozani) like the famous conductor Karajan and Serbian rebel Kara Yorgi are also among those who are nicknamed KARA for being 'swarthy'. One of my mother's great-grandfathers was also named Black David. There are many people in the Balkans who turn this Turkish nickname Kara meaning "black" into a name.
