acc. to wiki the Latin Praenomen (nickname, lakap) AULUS is a versio of olus, ollis, olla? maybe, I am not sure.
Here we see acc. to wiki, there is no clear etymology for that AULUS

I propose a Turkish one. OGLU, meaning simply 'the son of...'
Most probably Etruscan origin.
Oglu is a praenomen, too. Attested on Orhun Stones as TINESIOGLU...
By the way: clan means in Etruscan "the son" and Turkish oglan (the boy) has the same sound...
