Three-Turkic-names-Boreas-Chione-and-Hyrpax-in-Greek-Mythology

English translation of the German text above:

Hyrpax, son of Boreas and Chione, whom he abducted...

*

There are 3 nice Türkic names here to see.

Boreas, Urpaks and Chione.

Let us see: Boreas, Βορέας; also ΒορρᾶςBorrhâs) is the "Greek" god of the cold north wind, storms and winter.

I have already shown in this blog that the Borras/Boreas should be of Türkic origin because Bora is a very old word for storm in many Altaic languages. Proto-Türkic can be reconstructed like here (by Starostin/Dybo):

Bora means exactly "the North Wind and snow storm" in Türkic and it is not simply a coincidence that the Non-Greek deity has a Non-Greek name.

Now back to our issue:

Boreas abducts Chione and make Hyrpax with her.

I would write it in Türkish down like:

Bora steals Kün and make Urpak, meaning the Storm takes the Day away and make a child with her.

Bora: Storm, Kün: Day, Daylight, Sun, Urpak: Child, Generation in Türkish.

The same again but in more detail:

Bora (Boreas=the Storm) abducts Kün (Chione=the Daylight, Sun) and make Urpak (Hyrpax=the child, the next generation).

As we see here above all these 3 characters of the Greek Mythology could have Türkic origins.
