Dolonci-Dolongae-versus-Turkic-Tolun-Dol

Approximate location of the Dolonki (by wiki)

*

Dolonci or Dolonki (GreekΔόλογκοι) is the name of a Thracian tribe in Thracian Chersonese. They are mentioned by Herodotus.[1]

German Dolongae

we read their names in the book of Thomaschek "die alten Thraker", too.

They have many women and many children.

*

There we can match this name with many Turkic words/verbs like

tol-/dol-: to get full > (Tolun-: a participle of dol-) >  TOLUN-AY= Full moon

*

There is a Turkic deity called Tolun/Dolun Han.

He enables animals and crops to be productive and reproduce. It gives abundance to the earth. It is likely to be associated with the full moon. Because the full moon is a symbol of abundance, completeness and beauty. Beautiful girls are always compared to the full moon in fairy tales and folk songs.

And there is even "The Tulunids (Arabicالطولونيون), were a Mamluk dynasty of Turkic origin[1] who were the first independent dynasty to rule Egypt, as well as much of Syria, since the Ptolemaic dynasty.[2]"

Their Turkic name is Tolunogullari,

means  sons of Tolun".

it could be related to Turkic döl (sperm)

from PTurk. *döl 1 progeny, breed 2 new-born animals, because the Dolongae had many women and many children.

*

There are some other tribes/toponomy/hydronomy whose names could

be derived from Turkic words like:

TIMACES: TIMAK: a kind of leather headgear

COTINI: Kut

UTENSES: ODUN/UTIN (wood)

ARTACIA: ARTIK (the rests) - There's even a dynasty called ARTUK in der Turkish history.

*

Enough parallels?
