Böyle olursa anlatı bozulur mu?

Pauly de durumu sezmiş gibi. Diyor ki: Bu iki ad belki de iki boyun adı değil de, idari ve hiyerarşik durum bildiren sözcüklerdi. Herodot zamanında artık güncel değillerdi.

O zamanki İskit boylarına Buduni diyenler, Türkçe çocuk/abla sözcüklerini de boy adı sanmış olabilirler. Bence çok olasıdır.

Well the names of these clans/tribes could derive from

Palus < Bala (Turkic child) 

and 

Napes< be Turkic Ana-apa (i.e. the child's older sister)?/3-4-5  

If so, will the narrative be spoiled? No.

Pauly seems to have sensed the situation, too.

 He says: "These two names were perhaps not the names of two tribes, but words denoting administrative and hierarchical status. 

They were no longer current at the time of Herodotus". 

 Those who called the Scythian tribes Buduni at that time may have mistook the Turkish words child (BALA) /sister (ANA-APA) as a clan name. Probably.
