There is a word used by Homer: αἰτέω/aiteo, meaning to ask, to beg, to demand. * In our Turkish, there is the verb ayit- which means to ask, to offer, the meaning of 'to ask, to demand' is clear on the pic 4 * The similarity between these two is startling!
