Greek-Alagion-Turkish-Alay





Nişanyan 'alay' sözcüğü için, OrtaYunanca 'askeri birlik' anlamındaki alágion αλάγιον sözcüğünden Türkçe'ye geçmiştir, der. * Deniz Karakurt'un buna cevabı ise, Niye Türkçe'den Yunanca'ya girip girmediği tartışılmasın?, şeklindedir.

Nişanyan says that the word 'alay' (military unit) was translated into Turkish from the Middle Greek word alágion αλάγιον meaning 'military unit'. 

Deniz Karakurt's answer to this is, "Why shouldn't it be discussed whether it was translated from Turkish into Greek?"
