Homeric-word-zigon-versus-Turkic-chug

 



There is a Homeric word in Autenrieth's book

ζυγόν (Zigon) 

meaning (1) yoke or cross-bar by means of which beasts of draught were attached to whatever was to be drawn (2) straps to fasten the ζεῦγλαι...

Look at my proposal:

Proto-Türkic word 

*čug 1 bundle 2 to bind, pack, wrap



the following Türkic words above are very similar to that Homeric word, too.

Old Türkish çuğ means oind / bunch (bağ, demet).

There are many other Altaic words that work like a proof for my proposal!

Would it be an option as its etymology, too?
