The resting place of the hero who died 2400 years ago in Çanakkale:

Altıkulaç Sarcophagus

In both images, I think it is possible to see and recognize the Turkish 'headdress' (bashlyk) and the Turkish-style knotted tail of the horse.

Ahameniş filan diyor wiki. Tamam.

*

The wiki says a sarcophagus from Achaemenid time. Ok.

So, it means for me: There were Turks during the Achaemenid Empire and they lived by their own traditions!

*

Şimdi Ahameniş İmp. zamanında diğer kanıtlar:

Now other evidence from the time of Achaemenid Empire:

Knotted horsetails a la Turca

Achaemenid Empire and its horsemen of Türkic origin with a bashlyk and knotted horse's tail

*

Conclusion: It is wrong to say that 'Turks appeared on the stage of history in the 6th century AD, they did not exist before that'. They were appearing in Anatolia and were surely neighbors with the Persian Empires. They were either mercenary warriors or reached important positions in the Persian states/armies.
