The first person that came to my mind was Turkish Hero Bamsı Beyrek from Dede Korkut's Stories.

Bamsı Beyrek is also known as Beğ Beyre.

It is related to the root bey/bay meaning rich, noble/pic3

Sonuç: 'Türkler Milattan Sonra 6 yüzyılda tarih sahnesine çıkmışlardır, ondan önce yoktular' demek yanlıştır. Anadolu'da boy gösteriyorlardı ve Pers İmparatorluklarıyla komşu idiler. Ya paralı savaşçıydılar ya da Pers devletlerinde/ordularında önemli yerlere gelmişlerdi.

Conclusion: It is wrong to say that 'Turks appeared on the stage of history in the 6th century AD, they did not exist before that'. They were appearing in Anatolia and were surely neighbors with the Persian Empires. They were either mercenary warriors or reached important positions in the Persian states/armies.
