Turkic Pars - Bars - like in Scythian name Abaris |
ISKITYALI ABARIS HAKKINDA:
Scythian Abaris

ENGLISH VERSION:
Pauly mentions his uncle named Oëbarsios.
Otto Maenchen-Helfen says it is possible that this name is Turkish > Ay-bars (Moon and leopard)
I have written about a similar name ABARIS, a Scythian:
and continues:
Shouldn't Oebasus, mentioned in the poem of the Roman Flaccus, who lived in the 1st century BC, be the same name?/3
But he doesn't accept it because it is very early for a Turkic name in 1. Century AD
BUT: There's also Oncheus in the poem (There's also Ocreus)
On and Ok are very old Turkic words.
