Jarlar-Earl-Erler-Ting-Ton-Tün-Toy-Kurul-tay

Servus,

(ähnlich in deutscher Sprache :)

By the way: Kur- bedeutet "regulieren" und Kurul means Parliament. Von daher Kurul=> curia, Kurie, curie im Latein?) (Adile Ayda's These) Mario Alinei akzeptiert diese These.

About Konungr we read by Wikipedia (translated from German by me):

„The Konungr (look at my blog about Kün-König-King) was the highest-ranking regional Leader.
He was elected by jarlar (English earl). (The old form it was Erilaz)."

Jar-lar (please read it like -yarlar-) sounds like er-ler (In Turkish „the men“, "er" means the man and suffix -ler, -lar makes the noun plural. (Think very shortly about Jar Jar Binks of Star Wars!...now keep on reading...).

Or Jarl = yerli = the warrior of this place or laird or the lord of the manor.

"Er" means und meant in Turkish, since Adam and Eve, always „the man“ and of course „the warrior“.

Then we read by wikipedia further (translated from German by me):

„The Icelandic translations of Latin (words) use the word Jarl for comes, praefectus, praeses and proconsul. For example Pontius Pilatus = Pilatus Jarl.

That shows us, that the titel comes after the Name. It is certainly same in Turkish: we don’t say, Captain Adem but Adem Captain. Or not Uncle Adem but Adem Uncle. Also not only in meaning but also same in form, too?

We read Wikipedia further (my translation):

„the Old Jarlar came together for a meeting for political  decisions that took many days called TING, (Thing).“

3 words i would put forward:

  • Toy = a very old word for Parliament in Turkish "tay" in "Kurul-tay" (Kur-=to regulate)       Kurul (Meeting for political Subjects) <=> Curie, Curia, Kurie (in Latin) (Adile Ayda's thesis). This thesis is accepted by Mario Alinei, too.
  • There is a similar word like toy => ton in "Komen-TON". It means Pecheneg general council (Kuman Parliament). (For further Information read my blog about Komon-dor).
  • There is another word called „düğün“ like „düğüm“ meaning not only „tie firmly“ or „fasten“, but also contract, agreement. Düğün means nowadays only wedding, that word includes still a contract and an agreement, too.

Ok, not enough? :)

  • There is  an interesting word in Turkish TÜN, and (verb) tüne- meaning the night or to spend the night. TING can be derived from that word, too, with the meaning that "the MEETING" lasted many nights (days).

Mecburen.

General Infos about this subject from Wikipedia:

An earl (/ɜːrl/)[1] is a member of the nobility. The title is Anglo-Saxon in origin, akin to the Scandinavian form jarl, and meant "chieftain", particularly a chieftain set to rule a territory in a king's stead. In Scandinavia, it became obsolete in the Middle Agesand was replaced by duke (hertig/hertug/hertog). In later medieval Britain, it became the equivalent of the continental count (in England in the earlier period, it was more akin to a duke; in Scotland it assimilated the concept of mormaer). However, earlier in Scandinavia, jarl could also mean a sovereign prince.[citation needed] For example, the rulers of several of the petty kingdoms of Norway had the title of jarl and in many cases they had no less power than their neighbours who had the title of king. Alternative names for the rank equivalent to "earl/count" in the nobility structure are used in other countries, such as the hakushaku of the post-restoration Japanese Imperial era.

The term earl has been compared to the name of the Heruli, and to runic erilaz.[3] Proto-Norse eril, or the later Old Norse jarl, came to signify the rank of a leader.[4]
The Norman-derived equivalent count (from Latin comes) was not introduced following the Norman conquest of England though countess was and is used for the female title. Geoffrey Hughes writes, "It is a likely speculation that the Norman French title 'Count' was abandoned in England in favour of the Germanic 'Earl' […] precisely because of the uncomfortable phonetic proximity to cunt".[5]
In the other languages of Britain and Ireland, the term is translated as: Welsh iarllIrish and Scottish Gaelic iarlaScots yarl or yerlCornish yurl.

Some of the most significant Earls (Welshieirll, singular iarll) in Welsh history were those from the West of England. As Wales remained independent of any Norman jurisdiction, the more powerful Earls in England were encouraged to invade and establish effective "buffer states" to be run as autonomous lordships. These Marcher Lords included the earls of ChesterGloucesterHerefordPembroke and Shrewsbury (see also English Earls of March).
The first Earldoms created within Wales were the Lordship of Glamorgan (a comital title) and the Earldom of Pembroke.
Tir Iarll (English: Earl's land) is an area of Glamorgan, which has traditionally had a particular resonance in Welsh culture.[7]
Rígsþula, Rig wanders through the world and fathers the progenitors of the three classes of human beings as conceived by the poet. The youngest of these sons inherits the name or title "Ríg" and so in turn does his youngest son, Kon the Young or Kon ungr (Old Norsekonungr, king). This third Ríg was the first true king and the ultimate founder of the state of royalty as appears in the Rígsþula and in two other associated works. In all three sources he is connected with two primordial Danish rulers named Dan and Danþír.

Traveling further, Rígr came to a mansion inhabited by Faðir (Father) and Móðir (Mother). They gave him excellent food served splendidly and, nine months later, Móðir gave birth to a beautiful baby named Jarl (earl or noble), whose hair was blond and who was bleikr (bright white in color). When Jarl grew up and began to handle weapons and to use hawks, hounds, and horses, Rígr reappeared, claimed him as his son, gave him his own name of Rígr, made him his heir, taught him runes, and advised him to seek lordship.
